welcome to tokyo
well, i got into town last night, sat on a bus for like 2 hours, then took a cab to my dorm in the ota part of tokyo. its a super cute little residential area with tons of neat little houses. theres a million bikes around, and they all kind of look the same, and no one locks their bikes.

from seattle to pdx to napa to irvine…
well the drive from seattle was ok. nothing terrible happened. i left later on friday than i wanted to, so i just drove to portland where i knew a bunch of my friends were going to be for the pdx zine symposium. i didn’t really hang out that much cause i was really tired and hungover from the night before… i left early in the morning before anyone was awake then i set off to napa! napa itself was pretty boring, the weather was pretty swell and sunny. the definate highlight of the napa trip was getting hecka f’d up and panchas in yountville for free and also going to KEHOE BEACH!!!!! best beach ever! me and jib had a leisurely drive to and from pt. reyes, staying irie the whole way with (mostly) incredible weather. of course it wasnt the best time to go (middle of summer on a sunday) but there were still only like 10 cars there… it was technically really crowded, but nothing like a SoCal beach. and then today i drove from napa to irvine, which was uneventful and boring. i listened to this american life podcasts the whole way from seattle to napa, and david sedaris audiobooks the second leg.
man this blog is really going to suck until i get to tokyo.. hopefully this week ill take some photos and will also have something to talk about.
72 hours left in seattle
well. i have 72 hours left in seattle. so far, i lived here for 3 weeks short of 3 years. yep. september 1st 2004. crazy. everything has been pretty awesome in seattle when you average it all out. in the next 72 hours i have to get my last paycheck, clean and tune up my car and get rid of all of my material possessions except my bike, my computer, my dog, a small suitcase and my backpack. this blog is going to be all about me living in tokyo, which hasn’t happened yet. so lets hope for the best. i’m going to california on friday afternoon i think. maybe friday night.
